One of the cool things about a good ftp client is "persistent download." If for any reason a connection is severed, the application will pick up where it left off. Unfortuneately, this doesn't happen when downloading from a link on a website (via http). Enter the new Free Download Manager which just also happens to be social software, my special interest.
