Ski and Ride Washington is getting people out of the house and on to the snow this month as part of the nationwide Learn a Snow Sports Month.
Governor Chris Gregoire, who is a skier, proclaimed January “Learn a Snow Sport Month” with good reason: each of the state’s ski areas has special discounts on lessons, gear rental and lift packages to make it easy for families and first-timers to experience healthy winter activities.“Recreation is an important part of the Washington lifestyle and snow sports provide a unique and enjoyable way to experience and appreciate the outdoor environment,” said Gregoire.
Living in Washington brings unparalleled accessibility to these kinds of activities. More than 90 percent of all Washingtonians live less than 2.5 hours from a winter sports playground. Learn A Snow Sport Month is a fantastic opportunity to get moving or get your friends moving in winter and try something new.
