"Steilacoom was Last"

I could definitely shave some time off this hill climb along the sound then up the Chambers Creek canyon. This is my time from 3/18.

As one enters our seaside village, there's a big sign reminds us that Steilacoom was First!..the first city north of the Columbia River, first church, first jail, first school, WINNING! I even live on the corner of 1st and Champion, how WINNING is that? But this bungalow of a city office is stuck in the 1950's. They recently just voted to upgrade from the smoke signal to a telephone system because the pony express finally got there with the memo about electricity. Now they run the power department, of course but they're clueless when it comes to how to use the internet in their own community. "Steilacoom was Last" should be the tag line for the next 100 years... A symbol of our slipping grasp on the cutting edge of progress.
