Frugal For Life

Frugal For Life: Do You Own Your Stuff or Does it Own You?

Are you working extra hours at work so you can pay for the upkeep on an item you have only used less than a handful of times? If you went into your clothing closet, would you find clothes you didn’t know were there?
How many pairs of jeans or shoes are enough? What does all the stuff, in each room of your home, say about you?

Some of the things we acquire are because they are practical or necessary; but if you don’t know what is in the box, at the bottom of the closet, back behind the clothes- perhaps it’s time you got rid of it, and only kept around the things that bring value to your daily life.

Those who live simply, choose their possessions, rather than obey the society and it’s “buy more” mentality. Often, these people with find they have fewer needs and wants than the mainstream over time. When you live simply you slow down and when you slow down, you become more conscience of what you bring into your life that may complicate it, that includes your “stuff”.
